So it has been a busy, hot cycling Summer and now the weather is cooling down to Autumnal temperatures which are more pleasant for cycling, although the days are alot shorter.
I successfully competed in the Grand Fondo Road cycling World Champs in Albi France in August where I came a very satisfying ninth position in my age group. I had a stunning and exciting ride and the event was so well organised. I then competed in the Languedoc-Roussillon Regional Time Trial Champs in September and won the title for 2017/18 and so, along with my other cyclosportive race successes, I have had a very good year of competitive cycling.
Another highlight of my year was joining the Vélo Club Lezignanais , where I am the sole female member and what a great bunch of guys they are, welcoming me with such enthusiasm into their club!
In September I welcomed my first group of Cycle d’Oc cyclists from S.E. Canada and what an awesome bunch they were! They had a week of great cycling in super weather conditions and they chose some great routes out of the many I had recommended, with plenty of hills! They loved the overall Cycle d’ Oc experience and hopefully I will be welcoming them again next year.
